Our Short Story

Christopher and I enjoy drag racing and while I have had my experiences with it, I thought that since he now has his drivers license, I wanted to do something to help keep him from the illegal Street Racing so we decided to do a Father/Son Drag Race project together.  We wanted a project that we could build together and after looking around for awhile, we found this 1989 Chevy S10 that had been converted to a SBC V8. We traded for this truck and brought it home. It ran and sounded good and so we were pretty happy with the trade. The next weekend, we took the truck to KCIR in Kansas City to run the Grudge Race. When we got the truck, the previous owner showed us timeslips in the 12 second range with this truck. The best we could get was mid 13's under 100 miles an hour. We thought "what the he** is wrong"? We took the truck back home and never raced again that year. We started looking it over from front to rear and that's when we found out we had been taken by the untruthful previous owner. Well, Chris & I talked about our plans for the truck. We started work in the Winter of 2007 to get it ready for the following year. It's almost Spring 2009 and it's 99.5% DONE and will be ready in a couple of weeks, (FINALLY). During this build, we have picked up alot of supporters and have gotten numerous compliments on the way it has turned out. Thank You to everyone that supported us and helped us out during this project. Races are just a few weeks away so check back for an update on how it does the first time out.
